Leonard Walitt, PhD.

Computer Aided Fluid Dynamics

Dr. Walitt's primary specialization is in the application of computer aided numerical techniques to solve time-dependent, viscous Navier Stokes equations as applied to TMS turbo machine designs. He has participated with TMS in over a dozen projects to form numerical solutions to complex flow problems. His work includes flow analysis of impellers, diffusers, turbines, and turbine nozzles. He has developed and maintained state-of-the-art Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes and is experienced in generating computational grids to complex flow structures involving stationary/moving members.  Most recently he worked with TMS on the design verification of a compressor designed for use with very low pressure, high Reynolds number airflows. As a former employee of TMS, he was instrumental in writing several computer codes for turbocharger design and performance analysis. Dr. Walitt obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering at UCLA and previously worked for The Marquart Corporation.
